Fall is a season that recalls falling leaves, family gatherings, and (at Buttercup Ranch) the anticipation of fresh cider from a homemade press. It was an obvious theme for our race when our son Josh asked, "Why not have a triathlon at the farm?" Since it is held annually around 9-11, we donate 20% of sales to our local first responders in memory of John Ogonowski, captain of Flight 11. 10% goes to Millstadt Fire Department. 10% goes to Millstadt Police.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of 9-11.
Race weekend at Buttercup Ranch has something for the whole family!
Arrive Friday night with your small trailer, RV, or tent and enjoy the peaceful farm ambience around a campfire. We have ample space throughout the property so you can have a fresh start on race day!
Reserve a Camping Spot on our Website
The race begins Saturday morning at 7am. You will run down the beach into our 2-acre lake for an open-water swim (OWS) with a guide lane. You then ride and run through the picturesque rural Millstadt countryside, finishing back on the farm through the race arch. The course is largely flat with a few hills.
After the race, enjoy vendor booths and drawings featuring prizes from many local businesses while sipping apple cider. Head into Millstadt for lunch and return for an afternoon and evening of live music, food trucks, and a balloon glow featuring local balloonists. (Separate event tickets required for balloon-glow).
Our event is USAT Sanctioned. In addition to the Sprint Triathlon event, we offer several other multisport race options (including paddle/kayak). This is a great event to experience multisport for the first time!
2-3 member teams can also register for multisport events.
